What is Circle?
Circle is an environmentally human-focused, prevention-by-design system that uses a constraints-led approach to intentionally shape environments where controllable stress, social identity, and meaningful feedback drive nervous system adaptation — so that consistency, resilience, and high performance become the default, not the exception.
What is 5th Wire Circle Training?
Our 5th Wire Circle Training is a transformative, human-centered program designed to empower a select group of your influencers (“Gatekeepers”), foremen, managers, and safety professionals to move your culture towards a deep sense of belonging. By combining the ancient practice of Circle with modern strength-based models, this training empowers teams to build real human skills, identify individual and group strengths, and develop a peer network that serves as protective "armor" against life’s stressors. The full training is 2 days in length.
SCOPE
The full 2-day training provides a comprehensive system — Prevention-by-Design — that shapes environments where high performance and consistency become the default. It moves beyond "fixing" problems after they appear and instead focuses on building the human skills and social bonds necessary to handle pressure before a crisis occurs.
The Framework of Circle: Understanding the geometry of a Circle as a tool for distributing stress and building psychological trust.
The Shield, Sword, & Armor: Learning to drop your Shield(s) of vulnerability and leading with strength; obliterating mental health stigmas and practicing human skills (the Sword); and building peer networks of support as the Armor against destructive decisions.
Action-Based Skill Building: Moving away from mere awareness of challenges to intentional practice of human skills like empathy and active listening.
Culture of Belonging: Combining individual significance with group acceptance to create a workplace where every member feels valued.
Components of this training include:
Day 1 focuses on the structure of Circle, the Sword, Shield, and Armor of Circle, and the constitution of a Circle facilitator. Components include:
The Mental Health Crisis: A data-driven look at the industry's struggles and the limitations of "deficit-based" intervention models.
Strength-Based Models: Transitioning from identifying weaknesses to focusing on existing competencies and assets to foster growth.
The "Why" of Circle: Discovering why the Circle is a pre-human, universal tool for building cohesive, healthy social norms and groups.
The 3 Core Values: Embracing Surrender, Vulnerability, and Trust as the core of Circle facilitation.
Staying "Left of Bang": Learning to be proactive and prepare for life's challenges before they explode.
Day 2 (also optional as a 1-day standalone) is highly action-oriented, providing the specific strategies, tools, and process to lead Circles in the field.
The 5-Step Process: A simple, action-based process on how to build your Circle, grounding it in real human discussion.
Round Table vs. FLASH Circles: Learning the difference between a long-form community-building session versus a quick, stand-up, in-the-field safety briefing.
Theoretical Framework: Based on the latest science and data, our Circle practice encompasses a variety of research-backed and practical framing guaranteed to unfold.
The ROI: Finally, we’ll share the data on how practices like Circle that foster belonging and community are essential and critical for companies and organizations to not only get the most from your team, but help them as humans.
